We look forward to welcoming you to our first session this year in the Learnovate Link & Learn Professional Series 2021.
During this inaugural event we will be discussing the very topical subject of Remote Onboarding. Onboarding is defined as “the process of helping new hires adjust to social and performance aspects of their new jobs quickly and smoothly” (Bauer, 2010).
Research has highlighted some startling statistics in relation to new hire retention:
- On average 17% of new hires leave an organisation during the first three months of employment
- Half of all hourly workers leave new jobs within the first 120 days
- Half of all senior outside hires fail within 18 months in a new position
Recruitment at all levels is a costly exercise and therefore a robust onboarding structure is of benefit to all organisations, in both the face-to-face and the online environment in which most of us are currently operating.
Focusing on best practices in relation to onboarding, Learnovate’s research seeks to identify the key elements of an effective and engaging onboarding experience from both the perspectives of the organisation and the new employee. Our experts will present the key findings from their recent research in this area and will discuss how companies are currently onboarding employees online, highlighting what we can learn from these practices.
