Project Summary
As generative AI rapidly reshapes how we teach, learn, and assess, education systems across Europe face a common challenge:
How can we move from experimentation to systemic, responsible adoption?
GenAI-EduMap addresses this challenge by:
- Mapping current uses of generative AI across European education systems
- Co-designing and piloting curriculum-aligned AI tools and pedagogical workflows
- Strengthening educators’ AI literacy and capacity
- Developing implementation guidelines and policy recommendations for large-scale uptake
Project Results
The project is coordinated by the Athena Research Centre and implemented with partners across Cyprus (University of Cyprus, Cyprus Pedagogical Institute), Greece (The Tipping Point, Institute of Educational Policy, Ellinogarmaniki Agogi) , Ireland (University College Dublin, Trinity College Dublin (Learnovate Centre) and Sweden (Lulea University of Technology, Skolverket), bringing together schools, researchers, and public authorities to shape the future of AI in education.
The ambition of the project is to ensure that generative AI is used in education in a way that is human-centred, evidence-based, inclusive, pedagogically meaningful, and ethically sound.
