Brenda Sugrue

With over 25 years’ experience leading learning transformation and innovation in global organizations, Brenda was EY’s Global Chief Learning Officer from 2014 to 2024, overseeing the learning strategy for 400,000+ employees worldwide. 

She was named CLO Magazine’s CLO of the Year in 2018. Brenda’s career has spanned corporate and academic roles, including Vice President of Innovation and Research at Kaplan, and Professor of Instructional Design and Technology at the University of Iowa. 

Brenda moved back to Ireland in 2025 and advises organizations on learning and talent strategy. She shares her expertise through writing, teaching, speaking, and consulting on evidence-based learning practices.
