Speakers

Dr. Joanne Banks | Lecturer in Inclusive Education | School of Education in Trinity College Dublin

Dr Joanne Banks is a lecturer and researcher in inclusive education at the School of Education in Trinity College Dublin. Joanne’s research interests are in the field of inclusive education and educational inequality. She has published widely on the social and academic experiences of students who experience barriers to learning in mainstream education. She is creator/presenter of the Inclusion Dialogue podcast series.

Sheila Curtin | Head of Centre for Learning and Development | PwC

Sheila Curtin has 25 years experience in L&D in PwC and leads their Centre for Learning and Development, having previously spent 12 years as an auditor in PwC’s Assurance Practice. She has a passion for leadership development and during her time leading L&D her team has been awarded many external accolades for the leadership development programmes they have created including their Whole Leader and Endeavour Programmes for directors and senior managers. Sheila has also been nominated for her own contributions to L&D. She brings a huge amount of experience to the table for this event.

Jackie Brown | Account Manager | ETU

Jackie is part of the strategic advisory services team for ETU. She works with a select portfolio of Enterprise Clients to help them realise their adaptive learning strategies.  In her 20 years industry experience, Jackie has worked with a wide variety of clients including NGO’s,  Irish and International Governments, Professional Services Firms and multinational organisations, with a focus on leadership and management development.  Jackie has a strong background in adult education and learning and her approach is rooted in dialogic and inclusive practices. She has recently completed a Masters in Educational Practice where she explored the experience of learning of senior leaders through COVID as a context. Her research revealed the impact of reflection and reflexivity on leaders’ contribution as-well identifying how boundary crossing leadership, intersectionality and social connectedness in crisis requires inclusive interpersonal skills.

Joy Rayfus | Assistant Principal | Mullingar Community College

Joe Rayfus is an Assistant Principal and an art teacher in a second level school. He has taught in a DEIS school for the past 16 years. In 2020, he completed his Postgraduate Diploma in School Leadership and is currently leading a new programme aimed at remodelling school planning across DEIS schools and improving professional collaboration in schools. In early November this year, Joe led a delegation of 12 education professionals to Harvard University for training with the DATA WISE programme.
