The Learnovate Centre is delighted to announce Hibernia College as a new Patron Member of the global research and innovation centre in learning technologies.

Learnovate, an industry-led technology centre funded by Enterprise Ireland, provides thought leadership to the world’s learning and development community on the innovative use of learning technology. Based at Trinity College Dublin, it empowers organisations through the exploration and application of transformative technology solutions.

Hibernia College is the latest company to join Learnovate’s list of Patrons. This is the highest form of Learnovate membership and Patron members sit on the organisation’s Thought Leaders’ Circle and participate in its Research Working Groups.

Hibernia College was established in 2000 by Sean Rowland and its main focus has been the Professional Masters of Education (PME) for both primary and post-primary levels. It has 100 full-time staff with another 500 in adjunct positions. The college has 2,500 students with two intakes in spring and autumn and it also offers CPD for teachers.

Learnovate, Director, Nessa McEniff said:

We are delighted to have Hibernia College join us at the Patron level.  Hibernia College has been part of the Learnovate community for many years and now sits on our Thought Leaders Circle.  Hibernia College’s approach to digital learning provides Learnovate with valuable insights and helps focus our centre on core research topics.

Hibernia College’s Head of Digital Learning, Francis McKeagney, said:

“It is crucial to stay abreast of what is happening in the industry and to meet with people in other sectors to share ideas. Learnovate is a dedicated learning institution with people both in the commercial sector and in higher education, bringing different parties to the table and allowing and encouraging participation by member organisations in research projects. This all accelerates progress for us. Learnovate helps us stay on top of what is going on in industry.

“Learnovate’s experience of doing technology-based research projects with different sectors is really helpful for us. I also enjoy being part of Learnovate’s Thought Leaders Circle where people from different sectors and geographies share ideas and work experiences. If R&D and Learning Technology is important to your company, you should take a look at Learnovate to see if it is a fit for your company.”
