OPENING

14:00 WELCOME & INTRODUCTIONS

Our Corporate Learning Session hosts, Janet and Richard will welcome attendees and bring you through the format of the afternoon.

Corporate learning has seen huge changes both in its delivery as well as its consumption by employees. But have these changes been effective across the board? Many organisations have experienced difficulties trying to cater to learners in a rapidly changing environment.

In this session we will brainstorm and ideate together to identify some of the barriers to getting our key jobs done and how we might overcome these barriers to set ourselves up for success.

15:10 IMMERSIVE LEARNING

Learnovate iWorkSafe Project:

The iWorkSafe project addresses the challenges faced in safety critical training through the use of an immersive learning experience that provides problem-solving scenarios and real-time feedback to learners. It allows the learner to set up a user profile to personalise the experience and provides opportunities for reflection to improve the effectiveness of the learning. This has been validated by manufacturing industry leaders and the next steps are scalability across other sectors.

Practical Implementations of Immersive Learning:

  • ETU is a multi-award winning organisation that spun out of Trinity College Dublin. a passionate group of medical and engineering researchers saw the potential of immersive simulation for learners to unlock their true potential.
  • VRAI create data driven VR simulation training for high hazard environments. They work with leading organisations like the Irish Defence Forces, the United Nations in Somalia and IAG at Heathrow Airport.
