Alec W. Serlie
Assistant Professor, Erasmus University Rotterdam
Alec W. Serlie is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Work & Organizational Psychology of the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Educated as a cognitive and medical psychologist (PhD on cardiophobia), he has extensive experience in organisational consultancy.
His work mainly focusses on innovative and practical tools for assessment and development purposes. Research on and the development of Serious Games in order to unobtrusively measure sensitive behavior, like compliance or toxic leadership, play a major role in his work. Presently he is Scientific Lead in an elaborate European Development project on Career Development (http://www.develop-project.eu/)
As an invited speaker and consultant he regularly talks and advises on recognising and preventing irresponsible and Dark Leadership.

It is obvious that the nature of work is transforming. We all know that the traditional job has changed from a ‘fixed-format’ to an agile job role. The adaptable and versatile worker is the new standard, as are competencies which can be transferred from one job role to another. Additionally, our working lives are also being prolonged. Life-long learning is a prerequisite. But how can we discover and effectively develop our potential? With an EU-funded international consortium we set off to do just that: high-tech potential assessment resulting in tailored learning interventions, making learning fun and effective.
