Carmel O’Sullivan

Head of School and Convener of the Arts Education Research Group in the School of Education, Trinity College Dublin

Professor Carmel O’Sullivan is Head of School and Convener of the Arts Education Research Group in the School of Education, Trinity College Dublin. She is involved in several funded research projects in the areas of arts evaluation and policy, Social Drama and autism, early childhood arts education, environmental reuse and the arts, and an arts-based work readiness programme for young people who face significant barriers to entering the workplace (careerleap.ie). 

Carmel has particular expertise in the areas of creative and transdisciplinary pedagogies, the arts, and inclusion in education, and works with students, academics, practitioners and policy makers from the worlds of education, the arts, health, business, and local communities. Carmel is very active in her local community and continues to work with children and young people on a weekly basis throughout her professional career.
