Joe Fernandez

Joe Fernandez is CEO of ALPACA, a spin out from Trinity College Dublin, which identifies children who may go on to struggle read before they can read print. Having screened 20% of the infants in Ireland this last year, Joe shares the business journey so far and how partnering with AWS has allowed the business to grow and scale in Ireland and Internationally.

Joe has a diverse professional background, ranging from working as Founder and CEO at ALPACA to serving as a Researcher at Learnovate Centre, Trinity College Dublin. Currently, Joe holds positions such as Principal at EQity, Business Growth Advisor at Enterprise Ireland, and Senior Advisor Creative Sector at EBRD. Joe also works as a Coach, Consultant, Mentor, and Facilitator at the Local Enterprise Offices – Dublin City. Additionally, Joe is an Associate Partner at Strategy Crowd and previously held roles such as Director at Data Origami and Commercial Manager at Folens.
